Root Canal in Lahore: Myths, Facts and What to Expect
Myth: root canals are unbearably painful
This is the oldest myth in dentistry. With modern anesthesia and gentle technique, root canal treatment feels like getting a filling. The severe pain you're feeling comes from the infection — the treatment removes it.
Myth: extraction is easier and better
Losing a tooth creates a chain of problems: neighboring teeth shift, the jawbone shrinks, and chewing weakens. Saving the tooth with a root canal and crown is almost always the better long-term investment.
What actually happens
We take an x-ray, numb the area, remove the infected nerve, clean and seal the canal, and later protect the tooth with a crown. Most cases finish in one or two visits.
When to book
Severe toothache, pain when chewing, lingering sensitivity to hot and cold, or swelling near one tooth — these all point to infection. The earlier you're treated, the simpler and cheaper the fix.
